lyrics

Hey, what are you doing?

Playing a kazoo.

Do you know where kazoos come from?

Uh... no?

Well, I'll tell ya!
Deep in the jungle lives the kazoo bird.
And when a baby kazoo bird is ready to leave his nest,
his beak falls off and he grows a new one.
Kazoo farmers collect those discarded beaks
and turn them into kazoos.

Is that really where they come from?

Sure it is! There's even a song about it:
The kazoo bird is a funny little thing,
he's got little feathers and he's got little wings
and his colorful beak sounds silly when he sings
and this is what he sounds like:

bzzz-bzzz bzzz bzzz bzzzz
bzz-bzz bzzz bzzz bzzzz
bzz-bzz bzzz bzzz bzzzz
bzz-bzz bzz bzzz bzzz bzzz!

Are you sure that's really true?

I'm pretty sure it's true.

Aw, c'mon, have you ever even seen a kazoo bird,
like, in real life?

Why, sure I have!
I saw the kazoo bird hoppin' down the street.
Funniest creature that I ever did meet
with a pointy little head and fuzzy webbed feet
and this is what he sounds like:

bzzz-bzzz bzzz bzzz bzzzz
bzz-bzz bzzz bzzz bzzzz
bzz-bzz bzzz bzzz bzzzz
bzz-bzz bzz bzzz bzzz bzzz!

The kazoo bird makes such a wonderful sound.
He likes to sing as he hops around.
He flaps his wings in the big blue sky.
You can hear this song as he flies on by:

bzzz-bzzz bzzz bzzz bzzzz
bzz-bzz bzzz bzzz bzzzz
bzz-bzz bzzz bzzz bzzzz
bzz-bzz bzz bzzz bzzz bzzz!

Shh! Don't move and be very quiet...

Okay...

Now hush, everybody and don't make a peep.
The little kazoo bird is falling asleep.
I think he might snore, listen with me.
This is what he snores like:

bzzz-bzzz ZZZZ
bzz-bzz ZZZZ
bzz-bzz bzz bzzz bzzz -snort!

Oh, he's awake!

bzzz-bzzz bzzz bzzz bzzzz
bzz-bzz bzzz bzzz bzzzz
bzz-bzz bzzz bzzz bzzzz
bzz-bzz bzz bzzz bzzz bzzz!

And that's The Kazoo Bird Song!
